Lego VIP Is Now Lego Insiders: Heres What Changed
We’ve got big news from the world of LEGO. In case you haven’t heard, the LEGO VIP loyalty program is no more. On August 21, LEGO launched LEGO Insiders as the program’s replacement. There’s no need to panic though, because despite the new name, a lot of things are staying the same.
Even though this is a new program, there's a lot that isn't changing. First, you can breathe a sigh of relief because your points aren’t going anywhere. That’s because your LEGO VIP points transferred directly into LEGO Insiders points. As a member, you can still earn great rewards by redeeming points. These range from coupons to help you save on your next LEGO purchase to exclusive merch. Also, it’s still absolutely free to join and participate in the LEGO Insiders program. You’ll just provide some basic information to sign up and start earning.
Now, there are some important differences between the old VIP program and LEGO Insiders, besides the simple name change. You can now earn 20 bonus points on LEGO purchases, even if you didn’t buy a set directly from LEGO.com or the LEGO Store. You can earn these bonus points when you scan the QR codes in each set’s manual. LEGO is also promising more perks in the Insider program, and one of the early ones is a “Treasure Hunt” for LEGO Insiders. With this interactive sweepstakes, participants will use augmented reality to find golden bricks. These bricks equal prizes, including one million points for six lucky winners.
Now that you know the basics of the new LEGO loyalty program, what happens next? The answer depends on whether you were a member of the previous program (LEGO VIP). As a former LEGO VIP member, you don’t have to do anything other than keep earning and redeeming points. If you weren’t a member of LEGO VIP, now is the time to sign up for LEGO Insiders and start getting rewarded for your LEGO habit.
This isn't the only news to come out of the LEGO Group recently. A new insect-themed set collection was announced earlier this month, and is expected to be released in a few days on September 7.
