Early Life

The young, famous, and ever-active personality Andrey Rublev was born on 20th October 1997 in Moscow to his father named Andrey Rublev Sr. and mother named Marina Marenko. His father was a professional boxer who later turned restaurant manager and his mother is a tennis coach at the Spartak Tennis Club. So, preparing for any national game was not a big deal for Rublev as he already belongs to a family of players. Rublev has one half-sister named Anna Arina Marenko from his mother’s other marriage and she is also a former professional player.

The winner of nine ATP singles, Andrey, made a debut with his entrance at Luxembourg at age 13 in his junior seasons. He marked his first win in the second competition in Phoenix. In the following years, he reached the capability of climbing till third rounds in singles, and in December 2012 he was honored with the title of Orange Bowl, the top junior competition. Rublev took a break in between his career before entering the competition of 2014 Summer Youth Olympics where he entered the competition with all three major events as first-seeded. There in the singles, he lost the game to Kamil Majchrzak in three sets and later received the bronze medal with the achievement of beating Jumpei Yamasaki.

Widespread Fame

In 2014, Rublev marked another debut at the Bulgaria F6 Futures, where he reached the quarterfinals with his hard work and immense focus. While continuing his career in Bulgaria, he reached again till the quarterfinals but became the runner-up in doubles. He was then 15 years old and was finalized in Minsk, Belarus. Rublev started his 2021 season with the entrance at the ATP cup, which is a well-known country-based team event. There at the event, he defeated Jan-Lennard Struff, the German player, and later came back for a set down to win the record of 3–6, 6–1, 6–2. In the final round of the ATP Cup, Rublev defeated Fabio Fognini, the Italian player in straight sets. Thereafter in Monte Carlo, Rublev reached the first singles Master 100 final where he beat the 11-time champion, Rafael Nadal.

Later, he lost the game to Tsitsipas, but his performance made him earn the career-high ranking of world number 7. At the event of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Rublev won the mixed title while pairing with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and defeated Aslan Karatsev and Elena Vesnina while reaching the finals. This was the first time that he ever attended mixed doubles in his professional career, and until then he had no plans to participate again in the next Olympics. Recently in January 2022, Rublev reached the thor round of the Australian Open where he beat Marin Cilic.
